Mr. Awira Phakmatra, Director of the Office of Environmental and Pollution Control 1, Chiang Mai, gave an interview to Thai PBS Northern News Center about the results of random water quality tests in the Kok River after receiving complaints that the Kok River was murky and that people who went swimming had itchy rashes.
From the sample collection on March 19, 2025, it was found that the water was 8-9 times more turbid than normal. The latest analysis results found arsenic, a dangerous toxic substance, exceeding the standard value in the Kok River by more than double.
